Sorry is all that I can say

Right.  Two things.  I’m trying to find a theme for a website and also I’m bored of this theme so it might change soon.  Sorry if you see weird ones over the next few hours.

  1. Pete says:

wow..funky. I like. Although I think that picture should either be an authentic Sian Hoyland or Pete Smith image.

  2. Andy says:

    Do you really?

I was thinking this for the website rather than the blog… I like it but I’m not sure for the blog.

Also - I agree about the picture… easily changed… in fact - I could rotate it and have a gallery of your images there. Send me some that would work.

  3. Andy says:

You know what - I’m not going to change the theme yet as I will have a Christmas one up soon. Maybe a new theme in the new year…

  4. Pete says:

now it just looks like I was calling the old theme funky, and that I am delusional and seeing pictures that are not actually there.

  5. Andy says:

Don’t worry Pete… in a few months everyone will look back and realise you were just ahead of your time. Or up too late. I’m going to sleep now.

  6. Jonny Evans says:

    Gutted.

I feel as if I have missed something dramatic and impressive.

What Christmas theme are we going for this year. I enjoyed last Christmas’ snowy theme.

Also - If you go to - http://www.twr.org.uk/Ondemand/moviematter.html

You can download the podcasts from the radio show Carolyn and I are involved in. Or you can join the ‘Movie Matter’ group on facebook (it has a link). We’re supposed to talk about films, but usually Carolyn and Phill just gang up on me.

  7. Pete says:

yer…I get that allot. The internet was originally my idea, but people then said it could never work, so it got ignored, and wasn’t made until many years later.

Craig-I cant remember any one replying to you telling us you got a new motor bike. Don’t consider us rude. The truth is that I know so little about them that I wouldn’t know what to say.I don’t know the correct etiquette- Is someone to be congratulated on such a purchase? Or should I challenge you to a drag race(I would win, I can do 0-20 in 4.37 seconds)?

I don’t know what to ask about the bike that would show my interest…How many wheels does it have? Did you go for any added extras such as air con and a sun roof? Is it an enviromentally friendly hybrid engine, such as those mentioned on http://www.peaddlebikesrule.com/engins-will-kill-us-all/petrol-is-for-loosers ?

  8. Laura says:

I honestly think the R Zone is a winner.

  9. Craig says:

Thanks, the reason why i got it is because my church is on the other side of reading along with the likes of my housegroup etc… and it takes me far too long in the evenings to get across town, but a bike should make it easier and quicker as one can dodge traffic, but at the same time you get quite a buzz out of riding a motorbike.

I was up quite late but i didnt see anything i was see Kanye West, quite amazing hearing 20000 people singing Jesus Walks it was cool!
Only problem was the underground decided that they would stop all their trains from 12 onwards for maintenance, which meant I struggled to get across London had to go by bus!! Then the train back to Reading was delayed over half half an hour, and then took an hour to get back rather than 20mins…and i also stupidly told my mates that i would drop them off home…I got home at 04:05 this morning and I woke up an hour ago!!!

  10. Craig says:

It took me over 4 hours to get back from London, I could have cycled it in that time

  11. Andy says:

May I be the first to ask - what on earth is a peaddle bike?

Craig - you so should have cycled across London. You could have pretended it was for charity and made a quick buck out of it - those cyclists types are always supporting ‘worthy causes’…

Jesus Walks is a great track. I forget that is Kanye West.

  12. Pete says:

Firstly, you know I cant spell.

Secondly, on top gear the other week they proved that the quickest was to travel across London (for those people unlucky enough to live in the south) is by bike.

  13. Craig says:

    Possibly!
Did you see how dangerous he was being though on it?

  14. Craig says:

Ok the bad thing about getting in yesterday morning at 4 and then sleeping till 1 in the afternoon is that I am still wide awake now, and don’t know what to do, have just played on my Wii for the last hour and I now know how to spin the ball to the left/right and think i may now play call of duty 4!

  15. Andy says:

Pete - I know you can’t spell - it doesn’t make it any less fun picking on you!!

Craig - the name of the Wii still makes me chuckle. The other day on Newsbeat they were talking about the fact Nintendo couldn’t keep up with the demand for them. The spokeswoman said “We just can’t produce enough Wiis”.

  16. Laura says:

No they cant, I went in game and asked for one the other day for my friend and I got a right geekazoid, you know pony tail, posh and ful to the brim with computer game knowledge. All I wanted to know is where are your wiis and he gave me a whole history as to why they arent producing them at the minute and how hes having to use his friends ps3 at the minute, I was right thanks! Sweet but Im not in the IT Club! I just like mario kart!

  17. Craig says:

Mario Kart isn’t available on the Wii?
Though they are in the middle of developing a new one for the Wii but won’t be out till next year…

  18. Laura says:

Yeah I know it isnt silly, I just like Mario Kart in general and feel I am one of the best in the world at it.

  19. Andy says:

I was officially one of the best in the world at the original Mario Kart.

  20. Laura says:

So was I Andy, Andy seriously if we ever got the chance to have a race Id run you down before you even had time to set off!

  21. Laura says:

And Craig too, Craig your a maniac on the real road Im a maniac on the fake one. Yes people Craig is an insane driver! My mum wont let me go in your car ever again! ha!

  22. Andy says:

Laura - that is a challenge I totally accept.

I’ll get a SNES for camp in the summer. In fact - I may have to get one before then as it’s been a few years since I last played it.

  23. Craig says:

hang on a minute you’ll have to include me in this as i was an awesome driver as well on the N64. Which I found the other day so i too will bring that in the summer…

And whatever Laura about my driving it wasnt that bad at all, it was your own silly fault for taking off your seat belt and then turning round to face the others while sitting in my passenger seat…

  24. Mat says:

I think you can download old Mario Kart from the SNES or Nintendo64 or even Gamecube (Double Dash - a modern classic), using the Wii store and play it on your Wii. If not yet, then definitely soon.

I’m pretty sure I’d beat you all at Mario Kart, I was deadly with a green shell.

  25. Andy says:

Seriously… you’re all doubting my skill. I was on Gamesmaster don’t you know? Well. I wasn’t actually on it. But my lap time for Mario Circuit 1 was.

And it has to be the SNES version… none of this N64 rubbish! Mat - you’ll have to visit Whitby one day next year and you can join the competition.

We just watched Top Gear from a few weeks back - the one with the race across London. I’m glad the bike won.

  26. Pete says:

Hummm…I am trying to work out if that is a sarcastic comment aimed at me or not. All my house mates were in the living room watching it, all supporting a different person. I was supporting the bike (obviously), and was very chuffed when it won.

  27. Mat says:

Andy, how did you just watch that episode of Top Gear? Aren’t you in work? Surely the kids don’t get to watch Top Gear to teach them about transport?

  28. Andy says:

No Pete - there was no sarcastic comment. I am glad the bike won. Unlike my previous comments may suggest, I would love to see less cars on the road and be able to use my bike more often.

Also - did I not mention we’ve been given a long weekend this weekend? I finished work on Thursday and have today off too…

  29. Mat says:

I suppose that’s fair enough, you teachers haven’t had a week’s holiday for well over 3 weeks!

In related news, Salford Council just decided to give everyone an extra day’s leave for Christmas Eve because they don’t want to open the offices just for one day, so that’s made me happy!

  30. Andy says:

A whole 3 weeks. Wow. That is a long time. I hadn’t realised it was that long ago. Although to be fair - in my case it has been 4 weeks. That extra week. It makes all the difference.

  31. Laura says:

Erm excuse me, I never take my seat belt off craig, it was on and thats your driving right there. You can cause people to fly all over cars even with their seatbelts on.
And Andy that is a challenge, I miss Mario Kart I want it for my DS!
Craig u too anything to get you back, you maniac!

  32. Pete says:

I want some time off! I have to be at hospital ready to start at 8.00am tomorrow! What is that all about? Far too early.

On sunday I am going mountain biking round Dolby Forrest. Cant wait. Its with a load of medics. Its only £15 for the transport there, bike hire, and transport back. Should be fun.

  33. Laura says:

Jonny told a very funny story at Bible study tonight! There are truly some freaks in the world.

  34. Andy says:

What was the story? He’s got today off work so I don’t think he’ll mind you telling the story…

  35. Gloria says:

Andy, we really should get a SNES. I know I didn’t sound that keen when you mentioned it the other day but I’ve been thinking, I’m going to be on maternity leave from May, which gives me a good 3 months (or more) in which to become The Best at Mario Karts, and beat you all at camp in the Summer.

  36. Andy says:

We’ll leave it in the hands of Susie The Hoyland…

  37. Laura says:

Gloria thats a really good plan! I went shopping with my friend whos haivng a baby the other day for a game console coz she needs one for maternity leave, however she was thinking a Wii but I cant imagine that would be particularly good for a lady with child! Yeah we need all the girl power we can get for this grand tournament!

  38. Andy says:

We need a snes before we need any girl power…

  39. Andy says:

Hey hey everyone - I’ve found Mario Kart for the PC! Yes!

    See it on my desktop
