My Portfolio

Below you can find information about websites that I have made. Some are written using html and css of my own but mostly now I just create or customise Wordpress themes. I'm especially keen on the Revolution Theme by Brian Gardner.

Prosperity Radio

By Andy | July 9, 2008 | Read the story »

Prosperity RadioProsperity Radio was conceived in early 2008 by a guy called Ryan Harris, and is scheduled for launch in August 2008. The basic idea is to help people achieve prosperity in their own lives by sharing podcasts and videocasts with prosperity experts, blog posts, and so on.

Hmmm.  This is another Wordpress Customisation from Brian’s Revolution Magazine theme.  Ryan asked me to customise the site a bit and I like the end result.  It’s not a huge shift from the basic Magazine theme but it’s nice.  The podcast element will be starting sometime soon.

Sheffield Trinity FC

Trinity ScreenshotSTFC are another football team that I play for. They are an 11-a-side team and will soon be entering the Sheffield & District Fair Play League.

The site is, again, powered by Wordpress (if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!) and this time the theme came from some nice people at the Glitschka Studios. The images came from the Stock Exchange.

Still a work in progress with quite a few changes to be made.

Mat Tanner

By Andy | March 16, 2008 | Read the story »

TannerMat is the only member of the official One Mat Band. He’s a singer songwriter who I have the pleasure of having met.  He’s very good.

This site has, again, been made using Wordpress and a slightly customised Brian Gardner theme.  The font used on the site is called Mat’s Scribble - because it was Mat’s scribble.  The video feed is from Mat’s channel on You Tube and the audio is provided via Podpress.  It’s almost finished!  There are a few finishing touches that need to be made but it’s not looking too shabby at the moment.

St John’s Church, Owlerton, Sheffield

By Andy | February 3, 2008 | Read the story »

St John\'s Church, OwlertonThe online home of my church in Sheffield. It’s a good place.

Wordpress is used as a CMS with a few plugins enabled to run the back end things.

This is the first site I made using a Revolution Theme. It’s the Magazine theme and the customisation is limited. I have rearranged a few areas of the homepage and messed around with most of the sidebars. The site has a regular podcast and is updated by different people within the church. The updating is done mainly ‘offline’ using programs such Live Writer.

Pete Smith Images

Pete Smith Images

petesmithimages is the home of Pete Smith - an exciting young photographer who just can’t get enough of taking pictures. Seriously, he loves it. And he’s pretty darn good at it too. I made this site using html and css and a few little bits of javascript. There is a rather nice portfolio section and I quite like it. I hope Pete doesn’t mind me quouting him:

The site looks great. Thanks.

The updating of the site is now done by Pete who uses some of his HTML knowledge to add new photos and things. There isn’t a CMS on this site… yet.

Reality

By Andy | February 1, 2008 | Read the story »

RealityThis is a church service that I am involved in.

Reality is an evening of worship with live bands, good Bible teaching, guest speakers and opportunity for ministry. It’s about equipping the young people of Hillsborough to serve God where they stand.

The site is under construction but I made the postcard that is currently used as a holding page. It serves a purpose and we’re still trying to work out what the website will actually be for. Most of our online communication is done via Bebo!

If you want to add your website to this really short list I'd be more than happy to make you one. I can do other stuff too - like Flash, Java stuff and all that jazz. There are people who are better at it than me. There are also people who are more expensive than me. Find the balance. Then drop me a line.

All the sites I make should work on every browser - although I don't have access to Apple Macs (unfortunately) so they might look weird on that. I use Firefox so my sites probably work and look best on that but it shouldn't matter which browser you use. I strongly disagree with sites that say "Best Viewed in..." It's just wrong.
