- Biblegateway Online searchable bible. Very handy!
- Church on the move A church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Like most of the churches I link to - I don’t know much about the church but it has a nice website!
- Dulles Church Another American church I don’t know much about. Again - great website!
- Edmond First Baptist Church This is Edmond’s first baptist church. I don’t know if the second baptist church is better. Yet again another American church with a decent website. But the home pages goes down too far.
- Mars Hill Church The church that Rob Bell comes from.
- Mountain Top Church This church must meet at the top of a mountain.
- The Crowded House A group of church planting networks in Sheffield and Loughborough.
- The Resurgence movement that resources multiple generations to live for Jesus so that they can effectively reach their cities with the gospel by staying culturally accessible and biblically faithful.
- York Minster I love York Minster. I don’t often go there (mainly cos I live in Sheffield) but I love the building and space.
DIY
- Build a BBQ This is a page that tells you how to build a BBQ. Useful if you want to build a BBQ.
- California Redwood Association Ever wanted to know what type of nails you should use for redwood siding?
Fun

- Helicopter Game A game Laura told me about. Now I’m hooked.
- House Prices Find out how much houses on your street cost! I know it’s a bit sad but I love it. Type in Addison Road in London. I used to live there.
- Shift A puzzle game that I’m not very good at but is fun.

- Michael Claxton An artist based in Sheffield. We bought some art from him. Come round and see it.
- Sozo Design A nice design company. I got an email from someone from Sozo asking how I did something on a website. I was pleased.
- Stock Exchange Royalty free images that I like to try and use a lot.

- Counting Crows A very good band… I like them a lot.
- Five Small Ponnies They’re back! Five Small Ponies are on their way back with a new album in the pipeline. Watch this space. It’s going to be special.
- Green Street Three Jonny’s band - they’re rather good.

- Geeks and God a podcast that educates and encourages technology in Christian ministries
- Mars Hill Podcast The church that Rob Bell comes from. Brilliant podcast.
- The Crowded House - Podcast The podcast from the church. I’ve been listening quite a bit lately.
- Trax 16 a monthly podcast created by CMS for young people. It’s a missional thing.
- Trax16 From CMS a podcast aimes at young Christians.
Schools
- Palterton Primary School The school where I work. Uses Primary Sites to supply the CMS. My class update it quite a bit but I didn’t have anything to do with the site itself.
Shopping
- 5 A Day NHS Helpful advice on what makes up your 5-a-day. How old am I?!
- Eco Outlet A website that sells things that are not bad for the environment. Honestly I’ve never bought anything from it but maybe I will.
- Eden Online Bookshop An online bookshop. It claims to be the largest Christian bookshop in Europe. Usually not as cheap as Amazon.
- Ethical Superstore Maybe I’ll use this one day.
- Fairdeal Trading They do loads of fairtrade stuff - converse style shoes, footballs and even team kits… in case you need one.
- Low Cost Living Cost effectiveness, saving money, reducing expenditure in the home and at play.
- Money Saving Expert Visit this site for FREE money saving tips. Genius.
- My Shop Remember this? That’s right. You too can own a hoyland.me.uk lanyard.
Sites I Made
- Chasing God A site I made for Chasing God, a youth event that runs down at St John’s. It’s called Reality now. I haven’t made a site for that. But I might.
- Pete Smith Pete is a photographer. He’s good at it. I made his site.
- Prosperity Radio I did a bit of customisation on this Revolution Magazine site. More to follow I think!
- St John’s Church The church I go to. A site I made. It’s not updated much which is a shame.
- St John’s FC The football team that I play for. It’s made with Wordpress. In fact - it uses the same WP files as the St John’s site but a different theme.
Social networking
- Facebook A social networking site. Basically - if you’re not at school anymore you’re probably on Facebook. If you are - try Bebo.
- Plaxo Pulse Another social networking site. It seems to have more stuff built in than Facebook but it’s pretty similar.
- Twitter My Twitter page. Twitter’s great. It’s a micro social networking thing.
Sport
- Magic Seaweed Not a type of drug… Surf Forecasts and stuff like that to help with my early mid life crisis.
- Sheffield & District Fair Play League I’d like to put a team into this. Let me know if you fancy driving to Sheffield every week just to play.
- Sheffield Wednesday FC I support Sheffield Wednesday. Ha!
- St John’s FC I play 5-a-side for St John’s FC.
Web Guides, Resources and Things
- Brian Gardner Brian made the Winter Wonderland theme that I used over Christmas.
- Browser Shots Browsershots makes screenshots of your web design in different browsers. Pretty nifty.
- Color Combos This is a great site that gives you suggestions of colour combinations.
- Equal Design Web design and things. One of them is the creator of Education Themes.
- Golden Web Awards A website that gives out Golden Web Awards. I don’t know what they look like but the site has just had a makeover and is now using a Revolution theme.
- Google Analytics Google’s Web Stats. I use them for most of my sites now. They are good. Possibly better than statcounter.com but I’m only saying that cos they tell me I have more visitors.
- Online Button Maker It lets you make little buttons like the three that appear at the bottom of my pages.
- Son Spring a small, Christian web studio that specializes in creating sites for churches and non-profits.
- Sozo Design A nice design company. I got an email from someone from Sozo asking how I did something on a website. I was pleased.
- Springdot Hosting The people who host quite a bit of my website.
- Statcounter A very good web stats site. Giving you options for free stats (lots of detail but only registering latest 500) or paid (unlimited!).
- Wisdom Software Makers of some very good screen capture software.
Webhosting
- Godsweb Hosting company I have just started using for firwoodchurch.com. Unlimited webspace, decent price for bandwidth. VERY good customer service.
- Solid Rock Hosting company - I use the for stjb.org.uk
- Springdot Hosting The people who host quite a bit of my website.

- Education Themes A website I wish I had got to first! Wordpress themes for education websites.
- iThemes A rather predictable name but a very good collection of Wordpress themes
- OmniTheme More very nice Premium Wordpress themes.
- Premium News Themes They offer Wordpress themes. I really like LiveWire2.0
- Revolution Brian Gardner’s fantastic Revolution series.
- Theme Viewer Free Wordpress themes
- Wordpress Very nice blogging software - easily extended for more CMS.
