Spam again
Hello all.
I may have mentioned this in a comment somewhere - but due to the rise in spam (it’s probably becuase I now have a HUGE Google rating of 1!) I have had to install a new plugin to block it. At the moment it is still getting used to my ‘normal’ comments so there may be a few that get thrown out for various reasons. If you post something and it doesn’t appear please email me and let me know!
Thanks.

Andy, did you look at http://www.usbcell.com?
Â
Aren’t they genius?
I like the way it says ‘1 lonely comment’, although it won’t say it if I post this.
Hmmm, should I post it?
Yes. When I made my last post it made me type in a 4 digit code to stop spammers. It is supposed to do that?
Â
Pete it wasn’t Steven whose lung collapsed was it? Is he ok now whoever it was?
Hello. I’ve not posted for a while. Except that one a couple of minutes ago that doesn’t really count as it was just a question for Pete. I don’t know where to start. Firstly, sorry Ruth and Pete for forgetting that Pete lives here and Ruth was visiting and that you know eachother and it might’ve been nice to meet up. Erm…..turns out I don’t have much to say. I feel that without broadband I get behind the blog world so there is too much to comment on. I have also been living in a theatre the last couple of weeks and we don’t have internet there. Andy, can you make a poll so the good bloggers can decide what I am to do with my life? It could include where I am to move to and what I am to do there. NZ and Sheffield should be there. As well as London. And radio. And tv. It could be a complex poll but it would help me out a lot.
Ok - I’ll do a poll. I can do it so that the lovely readers can add an answer themselves… how about that?
Â
Also - the spam thing works on ‘karma’. Different things about your comment give you positive or negative karma. For example, if you have posted a comment before from the IP address you are at then you get good karma. If you put more than two links in a comment you get bad karma. There are a lot of ways of getting good or bad karma. Out of all the users so far Susie is winning with karma of 5.36 (not uncluding me as I get a bonus 25 points for being the owner of the blog!). The person with the lowest score, for some reason, is currently Ruth with -21. If you have a negative karma your comment will be sent through for moderation. If your karma is around the 0 mark you will be asked for a 4 digit code - get that right and you should be fine!
Â
I haven’t worked out all the things that give you good or bad karma.Â
Â
Yeah that would be good. Thanks. Why won’t Brooke put her album on Amazon UK or iTunes UK? It upstes me. I might have to go international and get it off Amazon.com. It might cost a lot though. Or I could just move there and get it from Sound or whatever their version of HMV is. I can’t remember. I think I made Sound up. Not actual sound you understand. God made that.
Hi Susie. it;s good to have you back.
Â
Someone called me Susie the other day. It was a bit confusing…
I just Googled my name (is that egotistical?!) just out of interest.
Â
Last time I did it, it asked me “do you mean Sean Hoyland” (to which I always answer with a resounding “NO!!!”, not caring in the least that computers can’t hear).
Â
But THIS time, it came with Andy’s blog! I’d prefer to have my own website but it’s quite exciting that Google now finds me when I ask it to!
When I type in “Jonny Evans” all I get is endless waffle about the 19yr old United (of the manchester variety) full back.
Â
However… when I type in “Jonny Hoyland”… bingo… hits galore!
Â
I’m not sure if that is a good thing, or a really depressing thing!
Â
hehe
we had a thing through our door about recycling in Hull. at the top it said “hullo”. Ah the comedy. Hullarious. also I am posting a lot today because I have the afternoon off from techie stuff so am meant to be doing all my work. I am away this weekend and have just realised I have to read 3 plays and 2 chapters. Very long chapters at that, by Tuesday. Tomorrow I will be in the theatre from 9am till midnight. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I might get this done? Answers aren’t allowed to include “stop wasting time on the blog”.

Â
It really is the future!
Â
Not sure you’ll be able to learn it in so short a space of time
Â
Â
Pray that Jesus will read it for you (and then send you a summarising memo)!
Susie, It is Stephen, but he is ok. They didn’t need to keep him in hospital, it was only a small bit of his lung that was collapsed so its fine. I think his is still going to go with the CU this weekend. I dont think The pole has been made yet, but I think you should live under the sea, ‘down where its better, down where its wetter, take it from me’.
I was in hospital on placement today, our tutor was a Geratric Doctor who hates old people. And when ever you ask him what the science is behind why the pataint is ill he just says ‘its because they are old’ to everything. The only pataints who had the illnesses we were interested in were either deaf of sleeping. So in the end our tutor decided it would be a good oppertunity to visit to mouge (is that spelt right? The place where they take dead people). However,in this particular hospital no one has died, so we just looked at an empty fridge while a raver scary man told us what they would do there is someone had died.
Then, I got a phone call from BBC wales ( I am not braggin or anything!) confirming the deails of a photoshoot I am doing tommorw for a joint project between them and Riding Lights. It turns out the photos I am taking for them will probably get used on a BBC easter program on good friday. Ok..so I am bragging, but how good is that!
If you google Gloria Hoyland it takes you to
Arhh…my use of links seems to have been faulty. It should read, ‘for a joint project between them and the riding lights theatre company’, which should have been the link. And the link for searching for Gloria Hoyland was http://hoyland.stjb.org.uk/?p=275
Also, new lines arn’t working for me).
Pete - I think you forgot to close the Riding Lights link you posted in the above comments…
With Google - I have just realised I’ve been logged in every time I Google so it personalises my search!
My blog has had nearly 2500 visitors in 10 days…
Also - Ruth - I’m sorry - I think it might be the link to the Damien Rice board that you are putting in. That appears to be giving you a negative karma of 20… Try posting with out that web link. See what happens.
thanks andy.
if life is fair, why do roses have thorns??
AND - Yes - Mat - I saw the usbcell thing. That is genius! I really want some.Â
Who is disco biscuits… is that Ruth…
Â
I’m so confused
Pete - I know your comment is now way back up the page but I just wanted to say that the Geriatrician who didn’t like old people isn’t not alone - I’ve met loads of midwives who don’t like women. Or babies…
And I’m sure there are many teachers out there who don’t like children…
Â
Andy?
Just realised that my last post looks like I think Andy is a teacher who doesn’t like children.
He probably is, but I meant for him to confirm (or deny) my suspicions…
I doubt there are any occupational therapists out there who don’t like basket weaving though. There can’t be…
Kate, you know babies who don’t like women? How can you tell?
I don’t like basket weaving but I’m fairly sure I’m the only one.  Also I’m finding it very difficult following blog conversations these days. Is it because I’m old or because I don’t spend enough of my working day on it? Also Susie I’m annoyed about the
No mum - it’s not because you’re old - it’s because there are LOADS of comments going on at the moment. Most of the time it’s my fault as I always post four comments when 1 would do.
Sorry.
Also - mum - check your email sometime soon. AND something was wrong with your comment which is why we don’t know what you’re annoyed about!
Finally - for some reason mum beats everyone so far with a HUGE karma of 18. There must be some “Is my mum” feature in there somewhere.
I don’t know what was wrong with my comment but I think it’s quite funny that no-one knows what I’m annoyed about. Could it be the next competition? just off to check my emails
World Poverty? (I think I am on to a winner here as if ‘Mum’ says she is not annoyed about poverty we will all think she is evil, so she has to say she is, even if she issnt)
Pete…
Â
When you use (’) to describe Mrs H. as ‘Mum’ are you suggesting that she is an imposter…
Â
Hmmmm… interesting…
Â
Perhaps “Mum’s” high karma is just a cover to hide the fact that it isn’t really Mrs H.
well she isn’t my mum……..i don’t think.
i don’t like not knowing what Mum was annoyed about because it related to me…..
I’m annoyed about you too.
