Another long title
***Yet again Pete posted a post with a really long title so I’ve made it shorter and kept the title just down there… nice one Pete…***
If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.
Ok, I can’t remeber exactly how the sunday school song goes, but it has that line in it.
I noticed that there has not been a new post since I was last on the blog, and considering how infrequently I get on the blog these days (stupid grimsby hospital accomadation with no t’internet) that means there must not have been a new one for ages, so here one is!
So, as we read, it is not impossible to move a mountain, but it was nearly impossible for me to climb up one! I spent bank holiday weekend camping just outside Keswick in the lakes with my brother. As anyone who has seen my dads car as he drops me off at camp will know, I do not tend to travel light. No drum kit in the lakes, but allot of camera gear, a tripod, and all the normal stuff you need for camping, i.e. a tent caused my big backpack to wiegh the size of a baby elephant. So to save weight, I decided that instead of bringing trainers and walking boots, I would just take walking boots. However, I did not expect to have to do a 2 mile steep uphill walk in said walking boots with the baby elephant on my back to get to the campsite on the fist night. So instead of wearing thick walking socks I was wearing thin ‘every day socks’ (not that I wear the same pair every day). So before we had even started I had no skin left on the backs of both my ankles.
Then on one of the big big walks we did that covered 5 peakes, each higher than the last, I went over on my ankle and strained or pulled somthing-it is still swolen now. All this, plus the fact that since been based in grimsby I have not been cycling to get to placments as I live in the hospital, causing a decreas in fitness that I only noticed while having a heart attact half way up a mountain, made the whole mountain climbing experience a rather challanging one. But it was good fun.
Also, for those of you who are going, the med school are deffinitly letting me go to camp! Thanks to those of you who prayed for it to be allowed. Lets just hope that noone actually hurts themselves (jonny), as I would probably be expected to do somthing.
Also, (my last also for this post), elective things are looking good. Ive found a great place in Uganda that are willing to have me and seem to offer everything I am looking for in an elective!
Also, sorry Andy for hijacking your blog to give out the lastest news in my life
Also….
…nothing
The End

Hey Hey Pete.
Welcome back again. Thanks for posting. I haven’t been online a huge amount recently and haven’t really had much to say - so I haven’t posted anything and you don’t have to apologise for posting - it’s what the blog is for!
Glad to hear you are coming to camp for certain.
Jonny just sent me a link to a story on theresurgence.com. It’s funny…
Hello!
I’ve not been around much, been very busy
Pete - great news to hear that you are coming to camp. I’m fairly confident that God will turn up now that the legendary Pete Smith is making an appearence.
My goal at camp this year is to not sustain any serious injuries. I’m fairly confident that I can pull it off.
Also - here’s an insight into my job. A student came to see me today and asked if he could take his final exam 2 months later than originally planned.
“Why?” I asked
“Because I’ve been on holiday” he replied. “For 3 months”
Seriously, how insane. Firstly - how can anyone afford to go on a 3 month holiday. Secondly - how can he think I’ll say, “ok” to a request like that. Thirdly - how did his supervisor not notice he was missing! Arrgh!!
