…I read bad poetry into your machine…

Andy and I just had a very funny experience.

I received a text from him saying “I’m at home but can’t see your keys anywhere. Also…how did you get to work without them?” So I sent one back, very confused, saying “What? My keys aren’t there because I’ve got them here. Which is how I got to work. In the car. With the car keys. I don’t understand.”

So Andy rang me to explain that he’d got a message, which he’d assumed was from me, saying something along the lines of “Hi gorgeous [which is how I usually start my messages] I’ve left my keys at home and can’t get into the car.” So, heroically, Andy rushed home from work early to save me, only for me to tell him that the text wasn’t from me.

So now he’s trying to contact the poor locked-out person who mistakenly texted him (about 2 hours ago…), so they can contact someone who might actually be able to help.

The lesson for us all, I think - phone people instead of texting. That way, you know you’re onto the right person!

Good one Mat - I have a friend who is Head of S&M at the University of Plymouth. Sounds like quite an intreguing role until you discover it stands for Systems and Middlewear and he’s just another geek…

And on the subject of geeks I mentioned to one of my friends the other day that Neil (who works in IT) had a work polo shirt to wear - she replied ‘Yeah, they always have to give work polo shirts to IT boys - it stops them wearing their Red Dwarf T-shirts to work…’

Ha! That made me giggle about the Red Dwarf T-shirts. It’s funny cos it’s true!

  4. Pete says:

*like yourself to long to do

  5. Andy says:

No Pete - Mat’s already asked if his website can look like that… and it appears I’m not as genius as I thought…

you are talking rubbish, of course you could do that! You are just saving your best material for when you get the call up from apple. My last comment was made while on hospital computers, hence I didn’t have the in line spell checker so I made a few mistakes!

I just looked at the Iain Archer website and nearly said “Woah” out loud. That is the BEST website in the world!

Sorry beb, but it’s better than any of yours. No offense.

So Gloria-now who is the geek?
