Baby, baby, baby…

I have some news. I can feel the baby move!
I don’t have a proper bump yet (as one of my friends pointed out yesterday, I’m “at that awkward stage where I don’t really look pregnant, I just look fat”) but it’s fun to be reminded all that time that I am actually pregnant and not making it up! Somehow, the scan and hearing the heart beat were so “of the moment” they just weren’t enough to keep me convinced all the time!
Anyway, just thought I’d share because it’s very exciting!

Glad you’re not making it up - though I’d have been surprised if you’d been making up the sickness!
It’s a great feeling isn’t it? Enjoy it while it you can - before you know it Amazon’s kicks will be keeping you awake at night.

Oh and for information for the Hoylands on the blog - Carl (that’s Mat R’s brother for non-Hoyland info)& Julie had a baby boy on Wed night - called Toby (a safer bet than Jesus which is what his big brother wanted to call him) and weighing a mere 6lbs 10oz

Aww, Jesus would have been cool. Then we could have said “I’m related to Jesus! No really, not in that ‘brothers and sisters of Christ’ way that’s very real but not very CORPOreal, but actually, truly, really by blood related to Jesus!”

Yay for more safely arrived babies! They are everywhere at the moment!
Megan and Hannah’s Godmother also had a baby boy last week, but they are still deciding between Ben and Jack for a name! My nephewit *he he* is definitely Daniel and was lovely, and gave me a huge belch and fell asleep on my shoulder.
Isn’t it amazing when you first feel them move and realise it definitely is that rather than anything else, soon you’ll be trying to guess which limb you can see creating amazing alien like moments from your belly.
Don’t worry 10lb 6 for a first is a rarity, Megan was only 7lb 13 and was considered a decent size for a first!
There are far too many people having babies for my good health, I will lose all my good sense soon and decide to have a 3rd having conveniently forgotten that I am sick the whole 9months.
Ohh and I added my first ever you tube video up today

Well done for William wanting to call his brother Jesus! That’s hilarious! Hang on, who’s big brother are you talking about? Toby’s or Carl’s…?

Carl and Julie had another baby?! I don’t remember knowing about that, oops! Gloria, thats very exciting! Although I don’t have any ‘make the most of it’, ‘isn’t it great?’ stories, thankfully.

Gloria, do you remember when Ben was asked who was going to come and visit him in the night on Christmas Eve and he said Jesus???
Hurrah for babies moving. I met a lovely baby yesterday - he almost made me broody. But not quite - he did try to pee on me…

Only tried to pee on you? How did he fail?!
I think Amazon’s taking after me on at least one thing - he’s a proper fidget-bum! So much for babies keeping still during the day and moving more at night. This one wiggles ALL THE TIME!
I felt bad that I didn’t know that Carl & Julie were expecting again, but I feel better knowing that you didn’t know either, Ros!

Now that I’m nearly a proper fully trained midwife I have done the part of the course that teaches us to move our hands out of the way when we notice a baby start peeing. With this one I used his nice hand crochet white blanket to cover him up (trouble is that babies pee when they’re cold so when we strip them off to put them on the scales they often just go for it…) - parents love me…
